Anderson
Mathew and Heather are a husband-and-wife design team and principals of
Henning-Anderson.
Mathew has practiced professionally since 1977 and on his own since
1982. He has both a Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture and a
Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of California at
Berkeley. He has taught design at Cal in both the landscape
architecture and city planning departments. He has also worked
professionally in Chile, Italy and France. Mathew’s primary focus is on
creative built geometries and exquisite detailing, as well as
integrated architectural and landscape solutions.
Heather’s career began in 1988 and includes stints at three other
professional design firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, specializing
in interior architecture (Julie Atwood Design), architecture (Fox
Design Group) and landscape architecture (Lutsko Associates). She has a
Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California at
Berkeley. Heather has special interest in the use of locally native
plant species; incorporating the aesthetic use of edible plants; and
habitat gardens for birds, butterflies and bees.
